World Neighbors

About This Association

World Neighbors (WN), founded in 1951 and currently working in 13 countries, believes in a grassroots approach to serving the world’s poorest, rural communities. We help them identify their own needs, then provide training and technical assistance to empower them to improve their own economic, health, and safety conditions. Women in these communities – motivated by a desire for a better life for their families and more independence for themselves – play a core role as community mobilizers and volunteers for WN initiatives. In fiscal year 2022, WN worked with 874 communities and its programs benefited 433,296 children, women and men. Since 1951, WN has worked in 45 countries and helped more than 28 million people improve their lives.
