About This Association

In 1982, a group of concerned citizens in Montgomery County formed FOLMC with the encouragement and approval of MCPL and the Montgomery County Library Board. The new organization’s goal was to make their good library system great, and FOLMC was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) a year later. Since its founding, FOLMC has grown to be the parent organization of seventeen volunteer chapters at library branches across Montgomery County. The organization also operates two used bookstores in Rockville and Silver Spring, MD.
