About This Association
The Park City Conservation Association dba Recycle Utah is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that has served residents of Summit County since 1991. We are committed to reducing waste and preventing ground water pollution in our community. We do so by offering a variety of collection programs, education programs, workshops, and events. As long as the health of our local and global environment is a concern, we will strive to offer community-based resources and solutions. Our Mission: Our mission is to empower people to lead sustainable lives. Brief History: A group of concerned citizens established the Park City Conservation Association in 1991 in response to a dire lack of recycling opportunities in the Park City area. They made it their mission to collect recycling, promote water conservation, and eventually to envision a zero waste plan for Summit County. Today we prevent 200 tons of valuable materials from wasting in the landfill every month. We accept over 50 different items for re-use, recycling, or haz-mat treatment. Our environmental educators visit up to 3,000 elementary school children throughout Summit and Wasatch Counties every year. It’s about Water: Ground water plays an essential role in our environment and public health. What we put in our trash determines what leaches into our ground water the landfill! We help keep toxic waste out of the landfill so our drinking water is safe!
